International Museum Day - Guided Tours
Our exhibition space is open seven days a week, and accessible for free for all visitors. However; with our "Noor o Soor - Banquet of Light" exhibition of 18th and 19th century sequin embroidered wall hangings coming to a close, we seized upon International Museum Day (May 18th) and invited everyone for a set of final "Farewell Tours" of our exhibit.
With selected groups from local universities, the art and crafts community as well as the general public, the tours began with a visual presentation in our cinematheque. After shedding light on the history of wall hangings, the Tree of Life design, as well as the sociological and cultural background of this extraordinary collection, we proceeded to a discussion with the audience, followed by physical tours of the exhibition space.
